Essential Bits, Inc. wants our website to be accessible to people with disabilities. We strive to conform to the WCAG 2.0 standard Level AA.  For example, by making sure there’s enough color contrast between text and its background and attaching descriptive text to visual items so the audio from a screen reader is helpful to visually impaired website visitors.

Conformance Status

We want our website to be usable and understandable for the majority of people with or without disabilities.  The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The Essential Bits website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.0 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, including by improving our website’s conformance with the relevant accessibility standards.

Limitations and Alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of the Essential Bits, Inc. website, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

In particular, we know that you may encounter:

  • The three orange “Read More” buttons on the home page all read the same even though they go to different pages. There’s no option in the theme to differentiate these buttons. Instead, please read the text just before the button to learn where the link will go.
  • Difficulties navigating using just a keyboard

Assessment Approach

We tested our website for accessibility using the following methodologies on the website’s pages:

  • Looking at the on-page website reports provided by the ANDI tool (Accessible Name & Description Inspector)
  • Checking the contrast of colors against each other using the WebAIM Contrast Checker
  • Manual testing
