Technical Writing. At major companies such as PeopleSoft, Computer Associates, and ASK Computer Systems, Hugo has written, edited, and formatted numerous new and existing sets of technical on-line and Web help; user manuals; handbooks; as well as implementation, quick reference, and database guides. He has also resolved numerous international translation issues.

Marketing Communications Writing. Hugo Gurll has written, edited, and coordinated the release of many pieces of collateral material as well public relations, marketing, and statistical articles for internal and external audiences. He's also written technical and white papers, reports, design documents, release notes, marketing data sheets, product overviews, and position papers. He has coordinated the production of marketing product solution sets and served as editor of ASK Horizons--ASK Computer Systems’ corporate magazine.

Grant Proposal Writing. Hugo Gurll is an effective and winning grant proposal writer. Effectively leveraging his Stanford Sociology Ph.D. he wrote, edited, and researched a major $150,000 California Wellness Foundation grant proposal for San Francisco State University's Gerontology program. This grant generates funds for a Geriatric Care Management emphasis in the Gerontology program; the proposal was fully funded.
Hugo has also researched potential funders for the Friends of the San Jose Public Library, Inc. Children's Literacy Project in preparation for writing a major grant proposal and has made presentations on the basics of grant proposals to non-profit agencies. Hugo sits on Advisory Board for the Friends of the San Jose Public Library, Inc.
Hugo is currently working with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Silicon Valley and the Treasure Island Sailing Center as they strive to generate additional needed funding.

Hugo Gurll has published numerous articles in several publications including the San Francisco Chronicle and Examiner, USA Today, Santa Clara University Magazine, and the Palo Alto Jazz Alliance jazz magazine. For the San Francisco Chronicle, he developed new sets of sports statistics analyzing past and future performance of sports teams. Known as "The Numbers Doctor," Hugo analyzed and accurately predicted the outcome of athletic events.


About Hugo
Dr. Hugo Gurll has a Stanford University Ph.D. in Sociology with extensive training in Psychology; he also has a Mathematics B.S. from Santa Clara University and was a National Science Foundation Researcher. 
Hugo's an excellent professional writer and editor having worked as a technical and marketing communications writer (PeopleSoft, Computer Associates, ASK Computer Systems), a grant proposal writer (California Wellness Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Treasure Island Sailing Center); and as a journalist (San Francisco Chronicle, USA Today, Santa Clara Magazine). He served as editor of ASK Horizons--ASK's high profile marketing magazine.
Hugo has also spent years coaching, mentoring, tutoring, facilitating, and training diverse sets of clients.
